OVEC / UofL Partnership: Future Educators of America

OVEC Early Identification, Recruitment, and Retention Program

OVEC received a grant allowing schools to fund Future Educators of America (FEA) organizations within their schools. The grant provides training for teacher-advisors and funds to start up and maintain the clubs for two years. Focus for each of the meetings will be to increase student awareness of the need for teachers, to help students understand how to prepare to become a teacher, and to share with students the joys and benefits of teaching. Ten high schools participating in the grant include Bullitt Central, Carroll, Gallatin, Shelby, and Spencer Co. High Schools, Oldham and South Oldham High Schools, Franklin Co High School, Western Hills High School, and Eminence High School.
