Kentucky Leads the Nation Project
The Kentucky Leads the Nation blog – www.kyleadsthenation.com – features innovations in Kentucky and around the nation, conversations with educators and policy makers leading the education revolution, and tools and resources that will help districts affect change for kids. This is the place the KLN Round Table’s answers to the big questions that are driving education policy will be available for everyone to consider
Formed by the state’s eight Educational Cooperatives in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Education, Kentucky Leads the Nation’s mission is three-fold:
- Driving innovation
- Fostering important discussions of federal and state policy priorities
- Sharpening Kentucky’s advantage for competitive education funding
Kentucky led the nation before in re-thinking education. Kentucky Leads the Nation wants to ignite that spark of Kentucky spirit needed to do it again by:
Convening the Kentucky Leads the Nation Round Table
Tapping into the brainpower of more than 75 public school educators and advocates, members of the Kentucky General Assembly, and civic , community, and business leaders, the Kentucky Leads the Nation ROUND TABLE will meet six times a year in each of Kentucky’s Congressional districts.
Each meeting will be a “field trip” where we’ll see innovation in action at Kentucky’s public schools. At each session the ROUND TABLE will tackle a “Big Question” about what barriers are in the way to innovation and how to build school and community support for trying something new. We’ll have federal and state policy makers on hand to discuss what support schools need to make change happen.
